HI Just wondering if anyone else can offer advice. I have an 11mth old boy
who for the past week has been biting at every breastfeed. He has had a
stuffy nose (which I have read could be the cause) and quite possibly
teething (has 8 teeth already with little problems). He feeds well on
solids and would previously take to the breast very well. Has never been
bottle fed and can drink from one of those Nuby sip cups with the softer
teats. I have tried firmly saying "no" to which he sometimes frowns but
generally just rolls off and starts playing. I have been expressing and
attempting to feed a little after the bite from the Nuby bottle and at times
takes some but only interested in having a lot from it at night.
I have read conflicting information about the amount of milk he needs at
this age and the cause for the biting, "milk strike", "self weaning" etc.
I would happily continue breastfeeding if this was to stop but it's causing
me a bit of stress.
