Hi there, Just wanting some advice, my son is 5 & 1/2 months old and has discovered rolling from his
back to his belly. The last 2 weeks he has been waking up almost every hour or so and when we go
into the nursery he is on his belly stuck. We wait and let him cry for 5 - 15 minutes before going into
his nursery to see if he will go to sleep in this position - but he does not. My son has never liked belly
time and had only rolled from his belly to his back a few times so I'm assuming he has not yet truly
discovered how to roll back again. The past few weeks I have given him as much belly time as possible
so that he may discover rolling back off his tummy but to no avail. I have also tried placing him on the
end of a blanket and gently rolling him to teach him rolling is OK. Just wondering what I should do? Do
I continue going into him each time he gets stuck on his belly and rolling him over to his back? I'm
worried if I keep doing this he will learn that I will come in and rescue him each time, but at the same
time our families sleep is very disrupted. He previously slept from 6:30pm - 3am and then fed a bottle
and back to sleep 4am - 5:30/6am we are missing our sleep :( Also I know babies sometimes roll onto
their belly to warm up, however I dress him warmly for bed in a long bodysuit (wondersuit) and 0.5 tog
growbag and his room temperature is around 22 degrees at 3am in the morning. He has 5 x 210ml
bottles of formula a day plus pureed veggies and fruit three times a day so I know he shouldn't be
waking from hunger. We never use to hear a peep from him until early morning for a feed, it seems
his sleep cycle has changed because sometimes he is crying even though he has not rolled onto his
tummy? Has anyone else had this problem and if so what did you do? Would love to hear from
someone about this topic. Thank You :)
