A Mother spends a great deal of time and effort looking after the baby, other children, husband, home, garden(farm), family pets, neighbours etc. I know because I used to do just that for many years. I had the determination and the energy to do so. After many years doing so, I ran out of energy! I had been able to look after everyone and everything else but had not taken care of myself very well during that time.
Having discovered how good we Mothers are at looking after all else but ourselves, and since working with Mothers and babies full time again, I have encouraged Mothers to have a well woman's check up at about the 3 to 4 month baby age time. not just doing the physio for pelvic floor muscles but seeing the G.P. and have a full blood count done to check on Iron levels etc.
Sometimes the tired feelings we experience is not simply due to lack of sleep, it could be a low Iron count and it may well effect breast milk supply too.
Go, look after yourself too, by having a complete health check up. Plan a dinner date for 2 as well.
